This customer brought in their fully restored VW Bus for a perfectly integrated stereo upgrade and a custom-built center console. Perfect matching in colors and materials was of utmost importance with this build.
We built the console to match the existing interior, using the same vinyl and tweed used in the seats.
We installed this JVC deck into the dashboard. With its simple controls, it doesn't look out of place in this classic bus.
The console includes 4 cup holders in total: 2 in the front and 2 in the rear.
Under the lid is a mini fridge, which can be turned on or off with a switch on the front of the console.
We used Hertz speakers all around, with the fronts in the front doors. The orange cones are a perfect match for the color scheme.
The grills protect these speakers in their low position and were painted to match the tweed in the doors.
Tweeters were placed higher in the doors to give a better soundstage, but positioned so they don't interfere with the window crank.
The tweeter enclosure and grills were painted to match the rest of the interior.
We built the console to perfectly match the seats, as well as to not interfere with the climate control vents below.
The rear of the console includes GFI power ports for anything from charging cell phones to powering a vacuum cleaner.
A 10" subwoofer is neatly hidden under the center row of seats.
We built this box to house 2 sets of Hertz 6.5" components under the 3rd seating row. We also accommodated rear climate control vents as can be seen to the right.
The speaker rings and grills were painted for a perfect match to this beautiful custom interior.
